Bluehost Tutorial – How to Create an Addon Domain in Bluehost

Are you looking to expand your online presence by adding another website to your existing Bluehost hosting account? Adding an addon domain in Bluehost is a simple process that allows you to manage multiple websites from one hosting account. In this step-by-step tutorial, we will guide you through the process of creating an addon domain in Bluehost.

Before we begin, make sure you have access to your Bluehost account and domain registrar where your new domain is registered. Also, ensure that your new domain is pointing to Bluehost’s nameservers. If you’re not sure how to do this, you can contact Bluehost’s customer support for assistance.

Step 1: Log in to Your Bluehost Account

To get started, log in to your Bluehost account using your username and password. Once you’re logged in, you’ll be taken to the Bluehost dashboard where you can manage your hosting account.

Step 2: Navigate to the Addon Domains Section

In the Bluehost dashboard, locate the “Domains” tab in the top menu and click on it. From the drop-down menu, select “Addon Domains.” This will take you to the Addon Domains page where you can add a new domain to your hosting account.

Step 3: Add Your New Domain

On the Addon Domains page, you will see a form where you can enter the details of your new domain. In the “New Domain Name” field, enter the domain name you want to add to your hosting account. Bluehost will automatically generate a Subdomain and Document Root based on the domain name you entered. You can also create a custom Subdomain and Document Root if you prefer.

Step 4: Set Up FTP Account (Optional)

If you want to create an FTP account for your new addon domain, you can do so by checking the box next to “Create an FTP account associated with this Addon Domain.” Enter the username and password you want to use for the FTP account. This step is optional, but it can be useful if you want to give someone else access to manage the files for the new domain.

Step 5: Click Add Domain

Once you have entered all the required information, click on the “Add Domain” button to add your new domain to your Bluehost hosting account. Bluehost will now create the necessary DNS records and set up the addon domain for you.
